I believe the use of plastic gloves in the dinner line was instituted at the beginning of the pandemic (citation: recent in-person conversations with Escher alumni).
This is not how covid spreads¹.
I also believe that for our purposes in the dinner line, washed hands are sufficiently clean as to not require the additional barrier of gloves
If these points are accurate, it seems like a significant plastic waste to keep using dinner gloves.
I'm not suggesting we stop using gloves in the kitchens, they have many other uses. I'm just asking to vote on whether we need to keep our policy of requiring gloves in the dinner line.
