Board Representative

Revision as of 11:09, 17 February 2023 by Frenchhorncc (talk | contribs)

Escher's 3 Board Representatives sit on the Board of Directors (BoD) of the Inter-Cooperative Council (ICC). They represent the house and vote on important proposals that affect all ICC members. A key duty of a Board Rep is to keep information flowing in both directions; that is, to frequently update Escherites on BoD-happenings and to frequently update the rest of the ICC on member opinions and concerns.

Responsibilities

As a merger of three (3) houses (O’Keeffe, Renaissance, and Escher, 2014) Escher maintains three (3) Board Representatives, as understood from ICC Bylaw 3.114.

  1. Responsible to the ICC.
  2. Serves as a voting member on the ICC Board of Directors as determined by the ICC Standing Rules.
  3. Reports on the activities of the Board and ICC to the House.
  4. Informs the Board of any member concerns.

Board Rep Tasks

Additional responsibilities are listed in the ICC Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws as well as the ICC Standing Rules.

The “day-to-day” responsibilities include: - Attending and actively participating in all Board Meetings. - Preparing and presenting House Reports at the Board Meeting. - Committee/ Team Work — Being a member of one of the six ICC Committees — Chairing an ICC Team (as necessary) — Managing the ICC Member Assistance Program
