To be in compliance with the city fire code, there can be no furniture, boxes, or other items in the hallways. Personal items that don't fit in your room can instead be stored in the trunk room and unwanted modular furniture in the furniture room. Exceptions include shoes (but no more than a few pairs) and a doormat. Besides safety considerations, we must be prepared for the ICC to inspect our house so we do not get fined. It is also more considerate to keep the hallways free from clutter for our fellow housemates! The Maintenance Manager should also ensure that each suite kitchen should has 1 fire extinguisher at all times.
