Russel's teapot painted on the Russell suite door

Russell is the suite between Valhalla and Karma. It is named after logician and social critic Bertrand Russell, who once said, "The only thing that will redeem mankind is cooperation." He also once said, "Not to be absolutely certain is, I think, one of the essential things in rationality". (It is quoted to the right side of the Russell suite door). Bertrand Russell died in 1970, possibly inspiring the choice of name.

Location

Russell Suite is located between Valhalla and Karma suites on the East side of Escher. Its address is 1514 Gilbert Ct., Ann Arbor, MI 48105.

Layout

Like most of the non-corner suites, Russell Suite has 16 rooms, of which there are: 8 Small Single, 7 Large Single and 1 Double room(s). The Suite Kitchen is located on the first floor and has a microwave, stove and oven, and relatively modern refrigerator. We have a small number of kitchen utensils, which are useful for cooking your own meals, but we are definitely not "well stocked" by any means. The Suite Lounge has many couches and a large TV with satellite TV service.

Suite Leadership

Suite Culture

Russell is generally located near the middle for most "Suite Culture" metrics. Russell Suite is neither super quiet nor rowdy. It is generally clean (except possibly during the interim period), and Russellites are quite friendly. Many suite activities consist of hanging out in the Kitchen or watching a TV show or movie in the Lounge, sometimes with refreshments.
