Work Holiday
Work Holiday is an opportunity to clean the house in areas that don't typically get cleaned on a weekly basis.
Fall 22’s Work Holiday is the weekend of October 22-23!
What is Work Holiday?
From our VENERABLE CONSTITUTION: “4.1.4: Work Holiday shall be initiated by the President and coordinated by officers at the beginning of each semester. The purpose of Work Holiday is to perform jobs which do not need to be done weekly and are usually larger than regular House chores. Each House member shall sign up for an equal amount of Work Holiday labor.”
Basically everyone contributes four hours to help clean all the things. It all happens in one weekend. Here’s stuff we do every time:
- Deep clean each suite
- Steam clean carpet and upholstery
- Clean common spaces: kitchens, laundry room, music room, rec room, bike room, fitness room, etc.
- Make lunch for everyone
- Clean the office, sort mail
- Clean the trunk room
- Primp the grounds
- Prep for the after party (!)
At Work Holiday you can use exciting tools including:
- Steam cleaners
- Shop vacs
- Compressors
- Paint stripping machines
- Your hands
- Your brains maybe

If you cannot make it to Work Holiday, you will miss out on the deep-cleaningest fun of your life! :( But don’t worry, we will make you sign up for a make-up task. :)
