For example, if you are home for the summer and coming back in the Fall, you should have the Alumni role for the summer and can easily reapply for the Escherite role in the Fall.- The purpose of the newly (as of May '23, anyway) private suite channels is to make space for the private discussion of Note 2: All Escherites will be assigned a respective suite-specific concerns. You can still tag all members of a suite in messages in other channels by using the @[suite-name-here] tag.- The purpose of the "new" Escherite role is that grants access to create various communication spaces for housemates and housemates only. The main justification of the landing page & mod-assigned roles primary role assignments is security. Many of you will know that our email mailing list also reflects current membership. This is because some announcements and attachments are sensitive. Given the passing of the _date_ February '23 Discord Proposal, the content of these emails will also be shared in this Discord. The Discord proposal of February '23 gives way for the facilitation of such spaces while maintaining a warm welcome to the server's growing alumni presence.

The House Discord server will remain forever optional, with all fundamental House communication going through email. This clause was passed in the February '23 Discord proposal to bring the Escher Discord server under ownership of the House.
