Formerly a temporary house officer position added in 2020 to serve the house in communicating, formulating, and issuing our COVID protocols, this position has now taken a new role and a new name. The Cooperative Health Coordinator was voted into our Constitution on December of 2022. In the event of an outbreak, they set-up meal-delivery and bathroom quarantining systems. Their day-to-day duties are to keep an eye on the news and communicate CDC guidelines to the house, as well as stocking and distributing protective supplies as needed. Our COVID Policy has historically been drafted by them each semester and then voted on by the house, though anyone can amend or rewrite the policy and submit it as a house proposal.

Position Description:

  • Attend health-related ICC task force or committee meetings whenever possible if/when the ICC convenes a health-related task force or committee, or read the minutes to stay informed
  • Inform the house of relevant diagnostic testing and vaccination opportunities
  • Maintain the private house vaccination record when relevant
  • Track and communicate house health policies
  • Stay aware of relevant local, state and federal health policies and recommendations
  • Be a contact person if someone is seen violating a voted on house health policy.
  • If someone tests positive for a communicative disease of general interest:
  • Keep a confidential list of positive members
  • Assign an isolation bathroom that suite and provide signage on the bathroom
  • Ensure that quarantining people have access to food, supplies, and other help
