Escher employs our own private chef to prepare dinner and provide lunch materials for members. Guff (General Unspecified Free Food) food is available in the central kitchen twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Vegan, vegetarian and omnivorous options are available at all meals and those with food allergies are accommodated. If you have an allergy, please contact the Kitchen Manager to inquire about options.

During the Fall and Winter semesters, dinner is served seven days a week from 6-7pm except for during University of Michigan holidays (to include study breaks). Over the Spring/Summer semester, dinner is served only on weekdays, also excluding holidays. If you can't make the 6-7pm window some nights, just fill out a 'save meal' card located by the silverware and insert it in the appropriate slot on the industrial kitchen door's organizer (available in both kitchens).

A 'save meal' ensures that a tray is prepared for you and stored in one of the guff fridges for you to pick up later. Save meals become guff after noon the following day, so make sure to pick up yours before then. These cards are reusable, so please return yours to the slot after you pick up your meal. Additionally, try not to use save meals frivolously since it can create extra work for the cook shifts. It's best to enter your 'save meal' as early as possible, ideally at least 24 hours in advance, and it is best to avoid entering your 'save meal' once the cook shift has started.

Chef Giselle took the place of Chef Lynn in Fall 2022.
