There is a large, black-and-white laser printer, as well as a standard color printer available for GUFF use in the study room.

Operation Instructions

Large, black-and-white laser printer

  • The internal IP address of the printer is 10.0.0.43. If you are connected to the escher.icc.coop router, then you should be able to type that into your browser and get onto the upload portal of the printer.
  • The accepted file types, if you upload through this website, are PDF, TIFF, PS, PCL, JPEG, TXT, and XPS.
    • Basically, if you are printing a paper, convert it to PDF and then upload it on this site.
  • The printer can be discovered through Mac, Windows, and Linux clients on 10.0.0.43 as a network printer, depending on how nice it is to you. This would allow you to print from your system without needing the website.
  • You can also use a USB stick and plug it directly into the printer.

Standard color printer

  • You can connect to this printer from most devices as you would a standard personal printer via the print menu. You may have to first add the printer via your device settings. The device name should appear as either "HP62D4EC (HP OfficeJet 3830 series)", or possibly "Study Room Printer" on some devices.
  • If you need to manually connect to the printer, the internal IP address is 10.0.2.230

Troubleshooting

If the printer is online but printing doesn't work:

  1. For the black-and-white printer, go to the printer homepage at 10.0.0.43. Check if the paper in all three trays is empty or whether the toner is critically low. This can prevent printing.

If the printer appears offline:

  1. Go to the study room. Unplug the printer and the ethernet cable that it is connected to. Wait thirty seconds and plug them back in. Check if this has resolved the problem.
  1. If this doesn't work, ask the Tech Team for further help.
