This is an article designed to provide transparency about the results of proposals. These are mainly proposals that modify house rules or operations or constitutional amendments -- not proposals for purchases, unless they're relatively huge.

Initial Escher Discord Server Proposal

Result: Passed

• The Discord server will come under ownership of the Escher House. Yes: 38 No: 3 Abstain: 1

• The moderators will consist of the holder of the Social Chair position and of the members of the Tech Team. Yes: 33 No: 3 Abstain: 5

• The Presidents shall choose two officers who do not already have the moderator role to receive the role each contract period. Yes: 27 No: 6 Abstain: 8

• It shall be permissible for the moderators to institute, with reasonable warning in advance, a landing page of the Discord server ... Yes: 30 No: 9 Abstain: 2

3 Vegan Meals a Week Proposal

Statement: "Currently we have 2 vegetarian/vegan meal a week. We would like to change this to 3 only plant-based dinner nights. The push to eating more plant based options is primarily trying to make Escher more eco friendly :) Giselle is on board if the proposal passes. its a 3 vegan nights a week proposal rather than just 2 vegan/vegetarian meals a night thing."

Formal Removal of Glove Requirement in Kitchen Line Proposal

Statement:

I believe the use of plastic gloves in the dinner line was instituted at the beginning of the pandemic (citation: recent in-person conversations with Escher alumni). This is not how covid spreads¹. I also believe that for our purposes in the dinner line, washed hands are sufficiently clean as to not require the additional barrier of gloves If these points are accurate, it seems like a significant plastic waste to keep using dinner gloves.

I'm not suggesting we stop using gloves in the kitchens, they have many other uses. I'm just asking to vote on whether we need to keep our policy of requiring gloves in the dinner line.

Discord #politics Channel Safety Changes

Statement:

Concerns around current politics and public social media

Options: 1.Remove Politics 2.Remove Politics, Create Current Events Channel (Effectively clears Politics history and rebrands as a new channel) 3.Do Nothing

Reorganize the Discord "House Operations" Category

Statement:

Our Discord server has few categories and it's hard to find things. Particularly the House Operations category is currently functioning as a catchall. I propose breaking the current House Operations category into: House Labor chores chore-swaps work-holiday-questions Items and Objects guff-stuff lost-and-found selling-stuff House Operations move-in-move-out dinner-is-ready food House Amenities laundry mail music-room
