The Kitchen Manager takes responsibility for kitchen operations, trains kitchen crews, fines delinquent crews, and helps the house chef prepare for Health Department inspection.
Responsibilities
- Responsible to President and House.
- Arranges a schedule in the beginning of the semester to train kitchen crews. Shows them their responsibilities, including how to operate the kitchen equipment and how to properly perform their jobs.
- Designates a crew leader for each cleaning crew to ensure that that cleaning crew has done its job properly.
- Fines delinquent kitchen crews according to section 4.2.
- Works with the chef to prepare for inspection by the Health Department. Makes sure the kitchen passes inspection.
- Works with the chef in regards to improving the quality of the food and the performance of cooking crews. Seeks member input on kitchen operations.
- Manages and supervises work holiday in the kitchen.
- Coordinates all kitchen maintenance related jobs with the Maintenance Manager.
- Presents the evaluation of the paid chef to the House at the end of the semester.
