Fines are monetary, and are typically used to disincentivize skipping out on required labor. The chart below included outlines the basics of our fining policy for missing labor, which can also be found in the Constitution. Each volunteer who works a short-staffed shift in which another member is being fined for missing will receive compensation (or 'credit') of $15 per hour.

Note: Fines are emailed to members before they are posted on RentManager. You can be put on referral for missing the fine even though you haven't had to pay it yet. Be sure to watch your email for updates about fines. If you haven't been fined, you'll receive a combination of suite and monthly confirmation saying that you have no balance with the house chores. For example, someone who missed 2 kitchen shifts and If you aren't receiving emails at least once a suite chore will still be on referral even though they only missed 2 kitchen shiftsmonth then you should get in contact with the [[Treasurer]].
Fines may also be used to disincentivize other ways of being uncooperative. For example, in 2021 we implemented a fine for failing to report the results of a mandatory COVID test.

==Examples==
Per the chart, house chores are fined on a $15/hr basis, multiplied by the infraction number.
Missing [[Work Holiday]] incurs a flat $60, in keeping with the $15/hr basis.
